Do carriers have to follow these labels?
No. Handling labels ask people to take care, but carriers don't promise to follow them. Pack fragile items with padding on every side so they survive a drop either way.
Where do I put them on the box?
On at least two sides, so one is visible however the box is stacked. Put this side up labels on the sides, with the arrows pointing to the top.
Can I print them without a label printer?
Yes. Choose 2 x 4 in sheets for any home printer, or Letter page for one big label you can tape on.
